In 1998, KB Labs started our mobile lab operations in a trailer (“The Beverly Hillbillies”) and a GCMS volatiles instrument. Today, we have expanded to a professional fleet of mobile labs set up in Isuzu box trucks that include AC/heating and 8-kw Diesel Generators for self-contained power.
Preliminary Data Reports for the mobile laboratories are provided hourly and daily on site in an electronic spreadsheet. NELAC certified Final Data Reports, which are submitted both electronically and in hard copy, are generally provided to the client within five days of demobilization.

Innovative Field Analyses
KB Labs has also had the privilege of working with contractors and state agencies to develop on-site screening methods for samples affected by remediation co-solvents such Isobutyl Alcohol and Ethanol. Co-solvents have a tendency to mask contaminates-of-concern (COC) that need to be detected to determine if the remediation approach is effectively working. By the use of a modified head-space method, KB Labs has been successful in screening on site for the appropriate COCs. |
